Since the beginning of its activity, NUOVA ELETTROMECCANICA SUD (NES) has been operating in a modern plant, located in the industrial zone of Campo Calabro (RC) Italy and equipped for mechanical machining, galvanizing, assembly and testing.
In 1990, the company was incorporated into an Italian holding with branches in many different industrial activities including electronic and nuclear sectors.
Presently, the Works employ more than 60 people, among which several engineers qualified in the design testing and quality control of hardware and fittings.
The aluminium alloy used is chosen with low content of copper to avoid corrosion due to electrolytic couple and it is thermally treated to give it the necessary plasticity for a good and homogeneous compression.
The term damping system applies to the complex of the damping units suitably correlated and designed to reduce the vibration and in general the effect of the wind action on the conductors.
The technology widely uses optical fibres for the transmission of information and data.

NES disposes of a comprehensive test laboratory equipped with test machines and apparatus designed to perform mechanical, electrical, thermal and dynamic tests on the whole range of transmission line fittings.
Nes Research and Development activity includes the continuous improvement of the existing products, as well as, the design of new products, following the technological evolution of the overhead lines.
